Saheli in partnership with three other Black, Asian, Minortised women’s organisations Apna Haq, Humraaz, and Rochdale Women’s Welfare Association has been funded by Comic Relief to set up the Champa Champion Project. Champa Champion project offers across Greater Manchester, Rotherham, Blackburn and Rochdale outreach and advocacy support to women experiencing domestic abuse, forced marriage and honour based abuse including supporting migrant women who have no recourse to public funds. The project is going to be working to deliver training and empowerment sessions to women survivors of abuse to become peer mentors.
