The Maya Project was delighted to win The Manchester Spirit Awards for Partnership and Collaboration Award 2018. This was a huge recognition for all the hard work, dedication and commitment the partners have shown in making positive changes in Black Asian Minority and Refugee women and girls in Manchester.
It was an amazing evening held by MACC and it was brilliant to see the excellent work being carried out in Manchester’s voluntary, community and social enterprise sector. On the night all of the Maya Project partners came together, enjoying an evening of great food and entertainment. The Maya Team are truly honored to have received this award as it recognises what a huge difference it has made to women who often face many barriers and it is a much needed service.
What made this partnership unique and successful is that women from all diverse backgrounds come together. The partners are dedicated, work collaboratively and draw on the strengths and expertise of each other whilst having improved links. A shared vision, a co-operative spirit and mutual respect ensures the project delivers a much needed service. A BAMER partnership of this kind is a huge success for Manchester which leads the way in community partnerships.
